An IronMan Mind is benevolent. Success oriented individuals with this element have a high level of awareness of their surrounding environment and are helpful, kind, and encouraging to others in need. People that are givers, or help others, or practice benevolence, that are success oriented to do not do it once in a while or around typical "giving holidays." It is part of who they are and what they do in an ongoing basis. If you are a religious or spiritual person, you’ll find many examples of this precept in your faith. It has been said that “you can get anything you want in life if you help enough others get what they want.”
If you add the element of selfless giving to your mindset, you will have a complete philosophy that will serve you well throughout your life and your profession. You must help others without expecting an immediate return, or even any return at all! So, the amended statement should read “you can get anything you want if you help others get what they want and if you do so with no expectations of a return.”
Helping other people is really a natural law that all successful people understand and employ. To be the best that you can be, you must learn to be selfless. When you help others, not only are you doing something positive, you are also creating mutually beneficial relationships. To put it simply, when you help others, they're inclined to help you.
Helping others is like karma; eventually the good efforts you put out toward helping others will eventually circle back to you. Your acts of altruism will almost always have the unforeseen side effect of bringing benefits to you. You will find that people will be more inclined to help you achieve your goals and doors of opportunity will open for you.
The reverse also holds true. Unsuccessful people tend to be self- absorbed. Their only thought is reaching their own goals and they don’t think about the person to whom they are selling. From time to time, they may have some successes. But, these successes are not sustainable in the long term as their true selfish character eventually shines through.
How Can You Become More Benevolent?
There are many ways that you can become more benevolent. The easiest way to do this is to look for opportunities in your everyday life to be more helpful to others. Something as simple as opening a door for somone or putting away a strangers shopping cart in the parking lot are good examples. Being thoughtful of others requires little effort and your actions will begin a chain of actions that can have many unexpected consequences.
At first you may have to be purposeful about doing these things. You'll need to become less self-focused and more aware of your surroundings and the people that are around you. In a very short period of time your actions will become "Helpful Habits" which you'll automatically do without any concious thought.
Another way that you can become more benevolent is to give a portion of your income to help others. For many, charitable giving is part of their faith. For some, they know that this is a natural law of success and that you cannot recieve if you do not give. Many others know that this is a wonderful way for feelings of self-fulfillment.
There are so many ways that one can participate in this manner. The wonderful thing about this decision is that it is "you" who can decide how to best apply your income to help others. You are the one that applies the standards and motivations for your choice of charity whether it be and informal action or one through a more fomalized charitable process.
A third way that you can become more helpful is to become personally involved with a charitiable organization. This could either be working behind the scenes in administration or on the front lines with a more forward facing view to the end beneficiary.
